The story of the Titanic

It was 1912 when I first boarded the Titanic; I was hoping to get back to America from a 2-year collage course in Ireland. The day of the diarchal there were thousands of people their were waving good bye to their family members and friends. I was on boarding dock 26. As I stepped on the ship it was almost as if I were sleeping and I was in heaven because of all the sleek, shiny, and glossy wood paneling on the walls. There were lights with diamonds connecting the top and the bottom. There was wonder full artwork from hundreds of artists from all around the world. As I went through the saloon’s door to the grand staircase it was amazing there was a huge glass dome that let in all the light and all the wood carvings and the railings were incrusted with gold and at the top of the stairs there were two angels and in the middle was a clock. As I went down the steps there were chairs and tables all over with arched windows. I went to the right and went down my hall way I could see all the doors open with maids hanging the pictures of other passengers choice and as I went in to my room I a made immediately came in and asked my choice of what painting I wanted but, I did not care because the only reason I got this room id because of the collage paying for this voyage. So I put all my things in my drawers’ and left the room. I looked at the map that I got when I came in. there were rooms all over there was the smoking room, the lounge, the writing room, the first class stair way were people could talk and relax, the dining hall, and the saloon but first I wanted to go find some of my friends so I went down the hall and took a right then a left and a right again it was almost a maze but I found the elevators. There was beautifully carved wood and a man that would take me down. I got in the elevator and went down to B deck. I walked down the corridor and found his room I knocked and he opened the door I went in and all my friends were there. So that night we had a party and had fun. The next morning I went down to the dining hall for breakfast. There was not much to do so I went to the pool for a wile then went to the gym. Then for a wile I walked around the deck and saw all the life boats they took up a lot of room and why would they need them if the ship was unsinkable it did not mater that much though. It was about 11 p.m and I decided to go to bed. The next morning the water was calm and was cold. So I decided so stay inside and go to church since it was Sunday. It got out about 12 so I went to the smoking room were my friends were and chatted for about two hours. We go a tour about 3 o’clock and got to see the boilers, and all the areas of the ship we usually would not be able to see by the time it was over it was 9. I went to the dining hall and eat for a while and then talked. At 12 I went to my stateroom a lied down I could not sleep well so I got up and read. At about 1:45 there was a huge shutter every thing started to shake. I quickly got up and left my room. I asked what was going on and no one answered. 10 minutes later I found out we hit a ice burg. Every one started to panic and I race to the deck there were lifeboats getting ready to leave. They were only excepting women and children and I started to thing that I would not to be ably to get in a boat but before all the life boats were gone they accepted men on the other side of the ship. So I got there as soon as possible and I was lucky to get in when the lowered us down I was so unbelievable because the other day I though that they did not need the lifeboats but they did. When we were away from the ship you could see the propellers because it was leaning so much. You could hear screaming and gunshots go off every once and a while and it was very scary thinking if we going to die or live.

A wile later the ship was very tilted but then all of a sudden al the lights on the ship flickered out and I started to hear creaking. Then “crashhhhhhhh” the middle of the ship snapped like a twig and the front was gone the back was bobbing there and then it started to go down. Only about a minute later the entire ship was gone. There were people all over in the water screaming and yelling for help. 15 minutes later there was know sound and it was quiet. We started to go back and check for people and we only found one. We waited all night and by sun rise the Carpathia had gotten hear and we boarded the ship and went back to America thinking of all the people that died.

That night only 1,500 people survived and the other 700 perished. Only 6 people were saved from the water, six out of that 700.
