Christmas is Mia’s favorite holiday. She loves the idea of Christmas, and all the things you do over the season. This year she’s spending Christmas in California with her Mom. She had just gotten a new job, so they had moved over the summer. So far she was liking California. Until she realized Christmas would be different.
She realized there would be no snow where she was. One of her favorite things was snow. She loved to go outside with her friends and build snowmen and other things. Another thing was friends. She had made a few friends at her new school, but the ones she had in Missouri were better friends. She’s known them her whole life. This Christmas wasn’t going to be as exciting as she thought.
It was 5 days until Christmas and Christmas break was starting tomorrow so Mia had one day left of school. But, her mom had picked her up early because she had a “Surprise” for Mia. She wouldn’t tell her what it was, but she noticed suitcases in the trunk. Mia was very curious as to what the surprise was.
They had driven out of their new town, and were headed towards the airport. Mia didn’t understand what was going on. Then it clicked. The suitcases in the back, Almost Christmas, going towards the airport, they were going home! Mia was beyond excited. She asked her mom if that was the surprise, and she responded with a yes.
When they got off the plane in Missouri, her friends and her dad were waiting for them outside. This made Mia extra happy because she got to spend her Christmas not only with her mom and dad, but with her best friends too.

Good Job. Like the twist ending. Interesting how she was moping and feeling down, then she goes home and everybody's ends up being happy in the end. Good Job.
