CharlesS

A solitary tree in a solitary wood.

A Tree unlike the others, not normal as it should.

A man’s blood, sweat and tears.

All become part of his fears.

He really wants to end it all.

He wonders he could make himself fall.

The man stumbles to the tree.

Wondering where he should be.

He sees the gnarled branches, forlorn in the wood.

He thought about it more, if he really could.

He thought about his children, and how they would react.

He thought about his wife, who might have a heart attack.

His skin crawled at the thought.

He dropped the noose and left the tree, not angry, nor distraught.
