As I wait to get on the new turf I think its a new year anything can happen. A new team new players. I go to my position I play quick end or wide receiver. The coach comes over and says we will start with some short passing drills I take my spot and get ready to run a post. The ball is hiked and I run as fast I can it was a perfect pass and I catch it! I come back and the coach says I have improved alot since last year and he said I have a good shot at being on the starting team. We practice those drills for another 30 minutes and I didn’t drop a single one.

Then we went and practiced with the line for 30 minutes I had gotten a lot stronger over the summer and was ready for anything. When practice was done everyone was exhausted and tired. That next week the coaches gave us the sheet for the starters I was hoping I would be a starter when I checked the list I was a second stringer. My heart sank. It was the second game of the season and the starting end got injured and would be out for the season and I had to take his place. When I got out to the huddle The quarterback called the play 866 belly pass.

I practiced all summer on this play I got set and He hiked the ball I sprinted straight out and made a deep cut into center field I was wide open the ball was released into the air it was a perfect pass I caught it and ran it in for a touchdown. It was the winning play and I got lifted onto the teams shoulders and carried to the locker room. We went on to the playoffs and we were district champs. We went on to the state semi finals and won again. We went to the state championship game and we were down by a field goal.

There was 2 minutes left in the 4th quart. We had the ball it was 66 Belly Pass I got into the clearing the ball was already in the air. It was tipped by the defense and I sprinted toward it and caught it as the crowd rose to their feet I juked, and used a spin move, then a stiff arm TouchDown! The crowd roars like thunder they pick me up and carry me off the field and then we sang the school fight song then we ran back into the locker room and the whole team got congratulated on our amazing win. The coaches said they expected that from me next year also. I told them I will try my best and thats all I can do.
