The 1500
The feeling of determination
Four laps to finish
You know you can do it
It’s all in your head
The sound of the gun
Spikes hit the tartan track
Stay in front
Don’t let anyone in front of you
I hear their breathing behind me
The wind whooshes past my ears
I pick up the pace
I race against the clock
The final sound of the gun
The final lap
I feel the wind’s resistance against my body
The aching of my legs, begging to stop
My breathing gets heavier
Sweat pours from my head
Suck it up
The last curve and straightaway are looming in front
They are coming for you
They want to beat you
But don’t you dare let up
My heart beats faster and faster
As I push and sprint past the pain
Yelling and cheering come from the stands
Push, kick it in, five seconds to make it your own
I hear my dad, mom, sisters, and teammates
I run over the white line
The scoreboard clock has stopped
My time flashes across the board
This is my race and this what I live for

I love this so much! I can completely relate to this because I run the 1500 with you! I know how hard it is to beat the person right behind you, and you have to completely push through the pain to try and keep in front of them. Amazing job!!!
