Wings

Thursday after football
Joe, Odie, Riley, Colton, and I
Were coming back from team supper.
We were packed in Joe’s New Yorker
Were going about 80 miles an hour
With all the doors open
When an extremely sharp corner jumps out at us
We start to drift
It went to slow motion as I look down
Seeing gravel flying and our tire inches from the ditch
I see the long drop off the road into trees
I see things lost in the car fly through the air
As we round the corner
Things go back to normal.
