Fair

By: Cassie W

Fair is about good times,

Working hard,

New friends.

Fair is about Excitement,

Delight,

Love

Fair is about stuffing ourselves,

Feeling dizzy,

Then losing our lunch later on.

Fair is about dread,

Danger,

Loss.

Fair is about Farmer’s tans,

Cut offs,

Cowboy boots.

Fair is about screaming children,

Mooing cattle,

Roaring concerts

Fair has been my childhood,

My present,

My future.

The way you set up the poem really draws the reader in.

It was an interesting style of simply describing the fair rather than taking a standard approach to poetry.

It gave me a good sense of what the fair is like.

I'd like to think you remembered the refrain poems we did in 7th grade as your inspiration, right? If not, don't tell me, it will just burst my bubble. Good incorporation of your feelings into this!
