Five reasons… to meet our exchange students

Five reasons… by Kirstin K. will be a column every other week in the Tiger Beat this school year!

Two new faces now appear in the halls of Valley High School.  Kristina Kull and Po Yu are this year’s foreign exchange students.  There are many reasons you should get to know these kids, but here are five of them.

First:  They come from interesting places you might not otherwise learn about.  Po is from Taiwan and is staying with the Molumby family. Kristina is from Germany and is staying with the Meyer family.  They are both sixteen years old and are part of Valley’s Junior Class.

Second:  They are both excited to make new friends and improve their English.  Kristina is excited about attending sporting events.  Po is looking forward to meeting a lot of new people.

Third:  They are enjoying their stays in the Valley so far, so make sure that continues.  Po says the students have been very nice and Kristina likes that Valley isn’t so big.

Fourth:  Their hobbies and interests are the same as many Valley teenagers, so you might have something in common with them.  Kristina likes hanging out with friends and surfing the internet.  Po enjoys playing basketball, listening to music, and playing on the computer.

Fifth:  They love American classics!  Po’s favorite food is the good old cheeseburger, while Kristina loves pizza and pasta.  People who love pizza and burgers are pretty cool in my book.

If you get a chance to meet either one of these two, be sure to introduce yourself.  They are both very friendly and are definitely worth getting to know.
