Mrs. Monica Enyart and Mrs. DeAnn Lenth are integral members of our vocational education department at Valley.  The career commitment of these two ladies is vital to the formation and growth of education in our community.  Because of the hard work put forth by these individuals, students have the opportunity to prepare for future career choices while in high school.

Mrs. Monica Enyart was born on Oct. 9, 1982 in Waukon, Iowa.  She has two younger sisters, Melissa Wedo and Samantha Ehrhardt.  While attending high school at Waukon, Mrs. Enyart participated in chorus, FFA, volleyball, and SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions).  After graduation, she continued her education at Hawkeye Community College where she studied Agricultural Science.  She then attended Iowa State University for an Agricultural Education Degree with an endorsement in Biological Sciences.  Mrs. Enyart began her teaching career at Valley and is now in her fourth year as the Agricultural Education instructor and FFA advisor.  Monica and her husband Brian had their first child, Olivia, in May.  They also own an eighty cow dairy herd north of Postville.  In her free time, Mrs. Enyart likes to sing, farm, garden, and listen to country music.  She finds learning about agriculture to be of great importance and says she is happy to have the opportunity to teach about it.  She enjoys the atmosphere of the small school district and takes pleasure in knowing all the students.

Mrs. DeAnn Lenth was born on Sept. 7, “many years ago”, as she says, in Maynard, Iowa.  She has two brothers, one older and one younger.  Mrs. Lenth graduated from West Central High School where she was involved in band, chorus, basketball, cheerleading, golf, and FHA (now known as FCCLA).  After high school, she attended Wartburg College and earned her master’s degree from Viterbo University.  Mrs. Lenth is in her twenty-first year of teaching, nineteen of which have been at Valley.  DeAnn and her husband, Terry, have three children: Brittany, Ben, and Brayden.  They currently live on a farm where they have one dog and many cats.  In her free time, Mrs. Lenth likes to play the piano and garden.  She enjoys a variety of music, including soft rock, country, and jazz.  Mrs. Lenth enjoys teaching business education because she is able to make a difference in student’s lives.  She is pleased to have the opportunity to teach in such an excellent school system.

The opportunity for growth and achievement within the Valley community is credited largely to the education of the youth.  Because such fine education is offered by Mrs. Enyart and Mrs. Lenth, the community is being led in a positive direction.
